Cookie Policy
Key points
- The marketing pages of this site set no cookies at all, and there is no banner to dismiss because there is nothing to consent to.
- We use no analytics and no tracking of any kind — no Google Analytics, no pixels, no session recording.
- The shop page loads Paddle, our payment provider, which needs cookies to run a checkout.
What this site does not do
Most cookie policies are long because most websites load a lot of other companies’ code. This one is short.
On every page of this site except the shop, there are no cookies, no local storage, and no requests to any third party. We deliberately removed the two that used to be here: web fonts are served from our own domain instead of Google’s, and the location map is a static image instead of an embedded Google map. Both of those would have disclosed your IP address to another company before you had any say in it.
We use no analytics, no advertising or conversion pixels, no session recording, no A/B testing tool, no chat widget and no consent management platform. We do not know how many of you there are beyond what our server logs show, and we have decided that is fine.
The shop page
The shop page loads Paddle, our merchant of record, because a checkout cannot function otherwise. Paddle sets cookies that are strictly necessary to run the purchase: keeping your checkout session together, applying the right currency and tax, and preventing fraud.
These are necessary for a service you have actively requested, so they do not require consent under Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive. Paddle’s own privacy and cookie notices, available at paddle.com, govern what it sets and why.
If you never visit the shop page, Paddle is never loaded.
The contact form
The contact form is processed by Netlify Forms. Submitting it sends your name, email address and message to us; it does not set an advertising or analytics cookie. Netlify may set a strictly-necessary cookie for spam protection.
Server logs
Server logs are not cookies, but you should know they exist. Our host records the usual request data, including your IP address, so the site can be delivered and protected from abuse. See the Privacy Policy.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Because this site sets none outside the checkout flow, blocking them will not affect your reading of it — but blocking cookies on the shop page will prevent checkout from working.
Changes
If we ever add something that sets a cookie, we will update this page first and, where the law requires consent, ask for it before the thing loads rather than after.
